We made this recipe to go with the beef tagine listed in the previous post. This recipe also comes from Allison Fishman’s recent appearance on the Today show. Garbanzo beans are also known as chickpeas. You could substitute other greens for the kale if you cannot find it. The recipe is listed here.
Ms. Fishman started out as an assistant for recipe development on Martha Stewart’s show. She then worked in a similar capacity for Food Network. More recently she worked for Real Simple magazine and now Cooking Light magazine.
This recipe actually has the consistency of a soup, and the broth from it is excellent. The kale in the recipe needs to be cut into small bits or it is too chewy.
