We made this recipe for Christmas dinner this year. Everyone thought it was excellent, but the key seemed to be the basil-curry mayonnaise accompanying the meat. When placed on the table with the meat there was initial skepticism about “mayo” with beef tenderloin, but that changed into rave reviews after the first bite. We credit this recipe to Giada De Laurentiis from the Food Network. Here is the website link.
We did not have the mascarpone cheese called for, so we substituted a dollop of reduced fat cream cheese. The substitution worked fine.
It is also important to rest the beef tenderloin for the entire 20 minutes recommended.
Serves 6 to 8.
